Amazon Image Resizer

Square 1600 × 1600 JPEG with transparent areas flattened onto white, checked against the pixel range and zoom threshold Amazon publishes — with the parts that need human eyes clearly marked.

  • Preset output1600 × 1600 JPEG
  • Longest side500 – 10,000 px

Output targets

Pick one or several. Each gets its own folder in the ZIP.

Size source

Each selected marketplace supplies its own output size — Amazon uses 1600 × 1600 px. Switch to a custom size to override them all.

Fit

Fills the frame and trims the overflow — the usual choice for product grids.

Platform check

These are the rules that will be applied once you prepare the batch.

  • Longest side at least 500 pxRequiredAmazon states product images must be 500 to 10,000 pixels on their longest side.Pending
  • Longest side at most 10,000 pxRequiredAnything larger is outside the range Amazon publishes.Pending
  • Each side above 1,000 px (zoom)RecommendedAmazon says it prefers images larger than 1,000 pixels on each side so the zoom widget has data to work with.Pending
  • JPEG, TIFF, PNG or non-animated GIFRequiredAmazon accepts JPEG, TIFF, PNG and non-animated GIF, and says it prefers JPEG. This tool exports JPEG or PNG.Pending
  • Main image on pure white (255,255,255)RequiredAmazon requires a white background for most product shots. Transparent areas are flattened onto white; existing opaque backgrounds are preserved as they are. This tool does not remove or replace photo backgrounds, so only you can confirm the photo itself was shot on white.Manual
  • Product fills 85% or more of the frameRecommendedAmazon recommends the product fill at least 85% of the frame. Cropping is a manual judgement call — check the preview.Manual
  • File size limitInfo10 MB tool warning threshold — not a verified Amazon official limit. Amazon does not publish a byte limit on the page we verified; confirm the current cap in Seller Central (G1881). (Not confirmed on an official page.)Unverified
  • Filename carries the product identifierInfoUsing the ASIN or SKU as the filename keeps bulk uploads traceable. Set a SKU in the naming panel before exporting. (Not confirmed on an official page.)Unverified

How it works

  1. Upload the product shots

Any source size up to 20 MB works. Sources smaller than the preset are flagged as upscaled rather than quietly enlarged.

  2. Crop to square and keep the product centred

The 1:1 crop runs first so the product sits in a predictable frame, then the image is scaled to 1600 × 1600. Transparent areas are flattened onto white. Existing opaque backgrounds are preserved. This tool does not remove or replace photo backgrounds — a photo shot on a coloured table stays a coloured table.

  3. Read the checklist, then fix what it cannot see

Dimension, format and file-size checks run automatically. White background, product fill and watermarks are listed as Manual — open the preview and look.

What Amazon actually publishes

From Amazon’s own product-photo guidance, read on 2026-11-03:

  • Longest side between 500 and 10,000 pixels.
  • Amazon prefers images larger than 1,000 pixels on each side so the zoom widget has data.
  • JPEG, TIFF, PNG or non-animated GIF, with JPEG preferred.
  • Main image on a white background, RGB 255, 255, 255.
  • The product should fill 85% or more of the frame.
  • At least one image per product; six or more is the recommendation.

Amazon: tips for taking product photos

What this tool checks, and what it cannot

Automated, measured on the actual exported file:

  • Longest side inside 500–10,000 px.
  • Short side above 1,000 px for zoom.
  • Output format is JPEG or PNG.
  • File size under the working limit.

Marked Manual, because pixels cannot answer them:

  • Is the background actually white, or a light grey studio wall?
  • Does the product fill at least 85% of the frame?
  • Are there watermarks, logos, borders, added text or props?
  • Is this a photo of the real product being sold?

Passing every automated check does not mean the listing will be approved. Amazon reviews image content, and a perfectly sized image with a watermark still gets suppressed.

The file-size question, answered honestly

Amazon does not publish a byte limit on the page we verified. Seller Central’s image-requirements article (G1881) sits behind a seller login, so we could not confirm it. The 10 MB figure is a tool warning threshold — not a verified Amazon official limit — and the rule is labelled Unverified rather than pretending it is Amazon’s number. If you have Seller Central access, check G1881 and update src/data/marketplaces.ts — the preset is a single object.

Questions

Is 1600 × 1600 the right size for Amazon?

It is a safe default: comfortably above the 1,000 px zoom threshold and well inside the 500–10,000 px range. Amazon does not mandate 1600; it is the smallest round size that reliably enables zoom while keeping files light.

Does this guarantee my main image is compliant?

No. Size, format and file weight are the mechanical part. White background, 85% product fill, no watermarks and no added text are content rules that require a human check, and the checklist marks them as Manual.

Can this tool make any background pure white?

No. Transparent areas are flattened onto white, and existing opaque backgrounds are preserved exactly as photographed. Background removal and background replacement are not features of this tool — shoot or edit the product on white first, then resize it here.

Why JPEG and not PNG?

Amazon accepts both but says it prefers JPEG, and JPEG is dramatically smaller for photographs. PNG is available in the Convert tab if you need it — for example a graphic with flat colour.

Can I process several products in one batch?

Yes, up to 20 images. Add a SKU per image in the Naming tab and the export produces ASIN- or SKU-friendly filenames in a single Amazon folder.

Are the numbers current?

They were read from Amazon’s public product-photo guide on 2026-11-03. Platform documentation changes; the preset carries a lastVerifiedAt field and the checklist prints it so you can judge for yourself.
